. The project was meant to exhibit the life of the slave, even if that meant showcasing the unpleasant past in order to commemorate the life of these people that are more than numbers. Its is a layered project that is tied to the social infrastructure of the history of the site. Our site is in the middle of a community in the vicinity of the Haina River. The site has four main buildings, the mansion, the stable, the church, the mill. The main axis of the project was centered around the Stable. Everything was developed around it because that’s where the motor of the Sugar Mill was ignited. That’s were the slaves worked and we decided it was the heart of the site.
